How the park is laid out
Corbett stretches roughly west to east along the foothills. The Ramganga river runs through the heart of the park from the hills near Marchula into the Ramganga reservoir at Kalagarh. Most of the famous grasslands, including Dhikala, sit along its banks. The Kosi river forms the eastern edge, and the resort belt at Dhikuli and the town of Ramnagar lie along it.
Ramnagar is the gateway. The CTR reception, the railway station and the Amdanda (Bijrani), Dhela–Jhirna and Garjia gates are all within a short drive. Dhikala is reached through Dhangarhi gate to the north, Durga Devi from the Marchula side, and Sonanadi from Kotdwar in the far west.
