About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to every enquiry and booking made through JimCorbett.org, by our website, WhatsApp, phone or email. They are an agreement between you and [Your registered business name], [Street address], Ramnagar, Nainital, Uttarakhand 244715, India (“we”, “us”, “our”). By confirming a booking or making a payment, you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone travelling with you.
Effective from 24 September 2026. We may update these terms; the version in force on the date you confirm your booking applies to that booking.
Definitions
- “You” / “traveller”: the person making the booking and every member of the travelling group.
- “Supplier”: the independent business or authority that actually provides a service: Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) for permits and forest rest houses, hotels and resorts, cab operators, safari gypsy owners and guides.
- “Booking”: any service we arrange for you, such as a safari permit, stay, package or cab.
- “Quote”: the written price and itinerary we send you before you pay.
- “Booking reference”: the JC- number we give to your enquiry and booking.
Our role: facilitator and agent
We are an independent travel facilitator. We act as your agent in arranging services from suppliers. We are not Corbett Tiger Reserve or the Uttarakhand Forest Department, and we do not own or operate the hotels, vehicles or safari services we arrange.
Each supplier is responsible for delivering its own service and is bound by its own terms, which also form part of your contract for that service. We will tell you about any important supplier terms (such as a hotel’s cancellation policy) before you pay. We earn a commission from partner suppliers and may charge a service fee, which is always shown in your quote.
Bookings and confirmation
- Sending an enquiry does not create a booking. It only asks us to check availability and send a quote.
- A quote is valid for the period stated on it (usually 48 hours) and is subject to availability until you pay. Safari permits in particular can sell out within minutes.
- A booking is confirmed only when we have received the required payment and sent you a written confirmation (WhatsApp or email) with your booking reference.
- Please check every confirmation carefully: names, dates, zone, room type, pickup point and number of guests. Tell us about any mistake within 24 hours.
Prices and payments
- Prices are in Indian rupees (₹) and include GST where stated. Your quote lists government fees, supplier costs and any service fee separately.
- Advance: most stays, packages and cabs need an advance (usually 25–50% of the total) to confirm. The balance is due by the date in your quote, typically 7–15 days before arrival.
- Full payment upfront is required for safari permits and forest rest houses (because CTR requires payment at the time of booking), and for peak dates such as Christmas–New Year, Diwali, long weekends and summer holidays.
- If the balance is not paid on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation policy.
- Government fees, taxes and tolls are set by authorities. If they change after you book, the difference will be passed on (or refunded) at cost.
- Pay only to the bank account or UPI ID shared on our official number or email. We will never ask you to pay into a personal account introduced by a third party.
Safari permits and forest rest houses
- Permits and forest rest house bookings are issued by Corbett Tiger Reserve, under CTR’s rules, in the names and ID details of the travellers. We apply on your behalf using the details you give us.
- Permits are non-transferable. The names and ID numbers must match the travellers exactly; gate staff check original ID. Incorrect details can lead to entry being refused without a refund.
- Zone, shift and vehicle allocation are decided by CTR and depend on availability and quota. We cannot guarantee a particular zone, shift or tiger sighting.
- All travellers must carry the same valid photo ID used for booking and follow park rules, timings and the instructions of forest staff and guides.
- CTR’s own rules on cancellation and refund apply to permits and rest houses. See permit booking rules.
Your responsibilities
- Give complete and accurate details (names, ages, ID, contact number, dates, pickup point) and tell us about any medical or accessibility needs.
- Carry valid ID and any documents needed for foreign nationals (passport, visa) and for hotel check-in.
- Follow park rules: no alcohol, smoking, littering, loud noise, feeding animals or leaving the vehicle inside the reserve. Breaking rules can lead to fines or removal by forest staff, with no refund.
- Behave respectfully towards drivers, guides, hotel staff and other guests. Suppliers may refuse service for unsafe or abusive behaviour.
- Be on time for pickups and safari reporting times. Missed shifts are treated as no-shows.
- Take out travel insurance if you want cover for illness, cancellation or lost belongings.
Changes by suppliers and force majeure
Wildlife travel depends on the weather and the authorities. Suppliers and CTR may change or cancel services for reasons outside our control, including floods, landslides and monsoon closures, road damage, forest fires, animal movement, zone closures, VIP movement, elections, strikes, government orders, epidemics or natural disasters (“force majeure”).
If this happens, we will tell you as soon as we know and offer the best alternative available (for example another zone, shift or comparable hotel). Any refund will be whatever the supplier or CTR actually returns to us, following their process, less costs already incurred. We are not responsible for extra costs you incur because of force majeure, such as changed travel plans.
Our liability
We will arrange your booking with reasonable care and skill. Because suppliers are independent businesses and authorities, we are not liable for their acts, omissions, service quality, delays or decisions, or for injury, loss or damage caused by them, by wild animals or by events outside our control. Safaris take place in a wild environment and involve natural risks.
Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service, except where the law does not allow such a limit (for example for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence). Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Photos, reviews and content
Photos on this site are illustrative; rooms, vehicles and wildlife sightings may differ. If you send us photos or a review, you allow us to show them on our website and social channels with your first name, unless you ask us not to. Please be honest and fair in reviews; we do not pay for or edit reviews. The content of this website belongs to us or its credited owners and may not be copied without permission.
Using this website
- Information only. Our guides, fees, timings and maps are for general planning and are revised by the park and suppliers from time to time. Always rely on the confirmed quote and your official permit for the final details.
- Acceptable use. Don’t misuse the site: no spam or fake enquiries, no false or paid reviews, no attempts to break our security, scrape content at scale or interfere with other users.
- Intellectual property. The text, design, maps and tools on this website belong to us, and photos to us or their credited owners. You may share links and short quotes with credit, but not copy pages or photos without written permission.
- Your content. By submitting a review, photo or partner application you confirm it is true and yours to share, and you give us a free licence to publish reviews and approved photos on our website and social channels. We may decline or remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
- Planning tools. The trip matcher, budget estimator, timeline and packing list give estimates and suggestions, not quotes or guarantees.
Advertising, partners and commissions
Some pages may show advertisements served by Google AdSense and its partners. Ads are labelled “Advertisement”. We do not control or endorse individual advertisers, and any purchase from an advertiser is between you and them. See our privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.
Resorts, safari operators, transport providers and other suppliers listed on this site are independent partners. We may earn a commission from them when you book, which is already built into their normal price, so you never pay extra for booking through us. Partner listings are not paid advertisements, and a commission never changes the honest advice we give you.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will always try to resolve problems informally first, so please contact us. Any dispute that cannot be settled will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Nainital, Uttarakhand, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Contact and grievance officer
For questions about these terms or to raise a complaint, contact our grievance officer at care@jimcorbett.org. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 working days.
